Louisiana Tuna
& Wahoo Classic
2026 Recap
The 2026 Louisiana Tuna & Wahoo Classic showcased exactly why Louisiana is known as one of the premier offshore fishing destinations in the Gulf. A tournament-record yellowfin tuna weighing an incredible 239 pounds was landed by Garrett George, further cementing Cypress Cove Marina and the legendary waters of “Tuna Town” as a bucket-list destination for serious anglers. Throughout February and March, eighteen teams battled offshore for a $45,000 cash purse, with action-packed fishing, impressive weigh-ins, and unforgettable days on the water highlighting Louisiana’s world-class tuna and wahoo fishery. From giant yellowfin to nonstop offshore excitement, the event once again proved that few places could match the rich fishing culture, productive waters, and tournament atmosphere found along the Louisiana Gulf Coast.
